Yesterday, on International Women's Day, the Toronto Raptors announced that on March 24th, their game against the Denver Nuggets will be broadcasted by all female reporters.

These women include Meghan McPeak, Kayla Grey, Amy Audibert, Kate Beirness, and Kia Nurse (pictured above).
John Wiggins, Raptors Vice President said "we wanted to highlight the contributions that women make individually -- across so many broadcasts -- by bringing them all together. Yes, we're making a point. We hope this leads to more recognition of the many roles women play in pro sports."
This initiative is a great step in greater representation of women in sports media. This will encourage young girls to pursue their dreams of being a professional athlete or reporter in their future. Hopefully, other leagues and teams will follow suit soon.
